Tuchel says Liverpool have a bigger squad

Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel while assessing his side’s performance this season, Liverpool have a bigger squad, which is part of the reason they have been prolific this season.

Liverpool have lifted both domestic trophies this season and face Real Madrid in the Champions League final later this month, while closely behind Manchester City in the Premier League title race by four points with a game in hand.

Tuchel while speaking on Liverpool’s form said maybe it’s because the Reds are improving their squad in every transfer window why Chelsea are losing key players.

The Blues manager said, “We are of course losing Toni [Rudiger] and we are losing Andreas [Christensen]. It’s tough because we already have a gap to close.”

Tuchel said Liverpool can play conveniently irrespective of their schedule and still look fresh.

The German said the Reds have a bigger squad available as he noted that during their FA Cup finals, Liverpool arrived with everybody except Fabinho fresh.

He said, ‘They can produce these kinds of performances most often and they built this team for many years now and proved it, so this is where the gap is. The sanctions didn’t make it easier for us to close it.’
