Silva rates Chelsea new defender
Chelsea defender and Brazil international Thiago Silva has rated Senegal international Kalidou Koulibaly who joined the west London side from Napoli this summer.
Koulobaly joined Silva and Cesar Azpilicueta at the back during their game vs Udinese.
While Silva and Azpilicueta were their usual selves, Koulibaly impressed in possession and with one vital interception that abruptly stopped a Udinese break in its tracks.
Reacting to the Senegalese’ performance, Silva said ‘It was good.’
‘He is a player with a lot of experience. He played in Italian football, which for me is the best defensive schooling you can possibly receive. He is ready for our ideas. He played 70 minutes, and on Saturday he will be ready to play 90,’ Silva added a statement via Chelsea website.
He revealed there was no communication problem with Azpilicueta and Koulibaly as they could speak many languages.
Silva also spoke about his target for this season which is to win the EPL title.
‘To win the Premier League,’ he replied.
‘It’s a very difficult league to play in, but I think it’s possible.’
