Ronaldo recommends former Real Madrid coach as replacement for Ole
Portugal international and Man Utd striker Cristiano Ronaldo has recommended former Real Madrid coach Zinedine Zidane to Manchester United’s board to serve as a replacement for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, according to El Chiringuito.
This comes amidst Man Utd poor run in the premier league so far this season. Their recent devastating loss to Leicester City, which ended in a 4-2 scoreline, has seen them drop them out of the top four on the log table.
However, despite the Red Devils poor performance, the club’s management are reportedly solidly behind their Norwegian coach as they believe he would finally turn things around at the club.
But the reports from the club claimed senior figures at Old Trafford are considering their options and have identified Zidane as a better replacement, following a recommendation from Ronaldo.
The report claimed that the former Real Madrid boss has spoken with United’s hierarchy but may not accept Man Utd’s offer as he is keen on becoming France’s new head coach after Didier Deschamps.
There are also claims that Zidane has been approached by the likes of French club Paris Saint-Germain PSG and EPL side Newcastle United, but the Frenchman reportedly turned down both clubs offers.
