RB Leipzig star signs pre-contract to join Chelsea

RB Leipzig star Christopher Nkunku has signed a pre-contract to join Chelsea next season, according to the Athletic.

Nkunku had earlier on this year signed a two-year extension with the German club, meaning his contract doesn’t end until 2026.

However, the report revealed the terms of his new contract contain a €60m (£52.4m) release clause which kicks in next summer.

The report claimed the Blues are prepared to offer more than the release clause in advance of the summer to ensure they sign Nkunku ahead of other interested clubs.

Nkunku moved to RB Leipzig from Paris Saint-Germain in 2019 and has scored six goals in eight Bundesliga appearances this season and has made eight appearances for his country.

Chelsea are yet to confirm the details of their move for Nkunku as it remains a speculation.

We will have to wait till the summer to see if the Blues will submit a bid for the talented footballer.
