Premier League icon bemoans Chelsea star over selfish act, warns Frank Lampard
Premier League legendary striker Peter Crouch has issued a strong warning to Frank Lampard over his misfiring striker, Timo Werner who has gone ten games without a goal.
Chelsea as a team have been having a difficult time for the past few weeks and the defeat against Arsenal cast more doubt on their title challenge with Liverpool, Manchester City, Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur.
Peter Crouch who made a name for himself before his retirement in the Premier League has now stated that Timo Werner is hurting his team by being too selfish in front of goal.
The former England striker in his Daily Mail column noted that he thought Chelsea had pulled off a masterstroke when they signed Werner during the summer transfer window.
However, if fans look back at what he said during the summer, one was centred on his surprise that having been linked with him so heavily, his former club, Liverpool did not pursue him more strongly.
Not changing his first opinion about Werner, Crouch noted that the Germany’s No. 9 has started his career at Stamford Bridge the way he started his Liverpool career..
But having watched him closely a couple of times over Christmas, Crouch noted that he picked up something that tells you Werner has played 949 minutes for his club since his last goal.

According to Crouch, Werner is taking shots when he should be passing.
Though it’s ideal for a striker to be selfish but Crouch warned that is should not be done when it is to the detriment of the team.
He added that Werner is anxious and wants to break this sequence, but he just needs to settle down and things will work out.
