Pre-season tour: Pochettino flies out with 29 players
The pre-season tours are here and Chelsea are getting set for their first tour with their new manager Mauricio Pochettino.
The reports revealed Pochettino will fly to the US with 29 players in his squad as part of the club’s pre-season preparation.
Mail Sport also reported that the Blues are contemplating delaying the return of some of the players they are trying to offload this summer transfer window.
The likes of Romelu Lukaku, Hakim Ziyech and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang have been handed new dates to return, having originally been due back at Cobham this week.
The Blues want to prevent having a first pre-season campaign under Pochettino complicated by players being split into too many different groups at Cobham.
The Argentine will get the chance to be with players he wants to work with.
However, there will be another group of players that will be managed by ex-goalkeeper Carlo Cudicini comprising a number of loanees and younger players.
The report revealed the Blues are in the States for over two weeks.
