One player Chelsea will miss next season revealed
Former Chelsea star Joe Cole has named Mason Mount as one player that the Blues would miss on and off the pitch next season.
Recall that Mount left Stamford Bridge this summer transfer window and went on to join the Blues rivals Manchester United where he is tipped to be a top player.
The English midfielder was one of 11 players that have left Chelsea on a permanent transfer this summer as they work on trimming down their squad under new manager Mauricio Pochettino.
Manchester United signed Mount from Chelsea for an initial sum of £55 million. The Blues could get another £5 million from the midfielder’s sale in add-ons.
While Chelsea have been able to avoid defaulting the Financial Fair Play rule by selling many of their players, Cole, however, reckons they will miss Mount’s technical ability on the pitch and his leadership off it next season.
The former attacker told TNT Sports, “I think Chelsea will miss Mason [Mount] on the pitch because of his ability, but also off the pitch because of what he means to the club as a leader and a player that came through the ranks.”
Other players who have left Chelsea include Kai Havertz, Mateo Kovacic, Kalidou Koulibaly, Christian Pulisic, Edouard Mendy, Ruben Loftus-Cheek, and Ethan Ampadu.
N’Golo Kante, Cesar Azpilicueta and Baba Rahman also left on free transfers.
