Liverpool reportedly overtakes Spanish giant in the pursuit of talented youngster
Premier League outfit Liverpool are reportedly in the driving seat for the signature of Paris Saint-Germain forward Kylian Mbappe.
Kylian Mbappe is regarded as one of the hottest young prospects in Europe as he’s been consistent in scoring goals for Paris Saint-Germain ever since he was signed from Monaco.
Though the 22-year-old was not at his best during the 2020 European Championship, top clubs are eager to sign him as his contract with PSG is set to run out in a year time.
There have been reports that he wants to leave PSG in a bid to seek a new challenge, and Real Madrid have been rumoured to be his next destination.
However, a new report from The Mirror claims that Liverpool are now at the front of the queue.
The report suggests that the Reds are ready to make a formal move for the 22-year-old should his contract situation not be resolved soon.
Mbappe goalscoring record for PSG has been phenomenal as he scored 42 goals and provided ten assists across all competitions for the French side last season.
He has been tipped to win the Ballon d’Or ahead of Lionel Messi, N’Golo Kante and Lewandowski.
