Guardiola reveals the kind of striker he wants
Man City coach, Pep Guardiola has revealed the kind of striker he wants to sign Ahead of the summer transfer window.
The Premier League champions will bid goodbye to their top-rated striker Sergio Aguero whose contract ended this season.
While Aguero will be moving to Barcelona, Man City have been linked with moves to sign Erling Haaland from Dortmund and Harry Kane from Tottenham Hotspur.
Guardiola in a pre-match statement ahead of the Man City game vs. Everton revealed he would love to sign a player that can score 50 goals per season.
He went on to cite Lionel Messi as a typical player that can achieve such a feat.
”“I’d love to have a striker who got 50 goals a season, honestly.
“At the same time, I don’t like to put all the pressure on one player.
“In Barcelona, Lionel Messi, every season since he was born, scored 50 a season.
“Thierry Henry scored a lot in the first season and Samuel Eto’o scored a lot – what a striker,” Guardiola said.
With the look of things, it is uncertain if Kane would still want to leave Tottenham this summer transfer window.
This is because the Hotspurs will be playing in Europe next season in the newly created Europa Conference League.
