European champions submit £25m bid for Kovacic

European Champions Manchester City have submitted a £25 million bid for Chelsea midfielder Mateo Kovacic.

The report revealed Man City coach Pep Guardiola wants Kovacic in his squad so as to strengthen his midfield options.

While Man City have reached a personal agreement with the Croatia star, they are yet to get their offer accepted by Chelsea.

The Athletic reported that Man City have now submitted a £25million offer to Chelsea for Kovacic.

The report added that Guardiola is a long-term admirer of Kovacic since his time at Real Madrid.

Meanwhile, Kovacic has just one year left on his current contract with the Blues, who are to sell him this summer than see him leave Stamford Bridge for free next season.

He has been named among the long list of players who the club are ready to sell this summer.

With N’Golo Kante already out of Chelsea, Kovacic could be another midfielder to bid goodbye to the Blues soon.
