EFL: How Chelsea can lineup vs Southampton
Chelsea would return to action on Tuesday night in the EFL cup when they host Southampton at Stamford Bridge.
The match comes after the Blues recent win 7-0 win vs Norwich City in the Premier League last weekend.
While the Blues will head to the match with full confidence, they will, however, once again be without their strikers Timo Werner and Romelu Lukaku, as well as Christian Pulisic.
However, Chelsea midfielder N’Golo Kante could return to action tonight, having missed out against Norwich City on Saturday due to muscular fatigue.
Thomas Tuchel is expected to make massive changes to his squad that play against Norwich City, with Malang Sarr, Kepa Arrizabalaga, Marcos Alonso, Hakim Ziyech, Saul Niguez and Ruben Loftus-Cheek are likely to start.
Reece James and Trevor Chalobah would return to the back while Mateo Kovacic could get a chance in the midfield alongside Saul and Loftus-Cheek.
Callum Hudson-Odoi and Kai Havertz could also retain their spots, while Ziyech could start.
Chelsea are currently seated at the top of the EPL table and would hope to also make some achievement in the EFL Cup tournament.
Chelsea possible starting lineup: Kepa; James, Chalobah, Sarr, Alonso; Loftus-Cheek, Kovacic, Saul; Ziyech, Havertz, Hudson-Odoi
