Done deal: Premier League champions sign Brazilian winger
Manchester City may have been quite this summer transfer window, they, however, appear to have been doing making moves underground unlike their rivals Chelsea, Man Utd and Arsenal.
While the Citizens who lifted the Premier League trophy last season are the most in form squad in the Premier League, they have continue to bolster as they announced the signing of Brazilian winger Savio on a five-year deal until 2029.
The 20-year-old has been part of the City Football Group (CFG) since 2022 when he joined French club Troyes from Atletico Mineiro for an initial €6.5m (£5.5m).
Savio’s impressive form was what caught Man City’s attention as they took advantage of their CFG connections and sign the winger on a permanent basis.
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano disclosed that the Citizens will pay an initial £21m to sign Savio, with the deal including add-ons that could see the fee rise to £33.6m.
Savio who was handed the No.26 shirt number described Man City as “the best team in the world” led by “one of the greatest coaches ever” Pep Guardiola.
Speaking about his transfer to Etihad Stadium, Savio expressed how happy he is to be joining the Premier League champions and Club World Cup winners.
