Chelsea’s contract with Christensen stalled
The latest reports have claimed that the contract talks between Chelsea and one of their key defenders, Andreas Christensen, has been stalled.
Christensen has grown to become one of the key players for Chelsea at the back and has made ten appearances in all competition this season.
However, like some of Chelsea’s players, the defender’s current contract with the Blues is set to end in 2022, but the Blues are reportedly keen on keeping him at Stamford Bridge for more years.
But no agreement has been reached by the two sides over a possible contract extension.
While Chelsea are reportedly growing more concerned about the situation, a report via Goal claimed that talks have stalled between both sides following two months of silence.
The report added that Chelsea’s last offer of an extension for Christensen did come with a ‘significant’ pay rise, but the Denmark international would remain one of the lowest earners at the club.
So far since rising from the youth ranks, Christensen has featured 137 times for Chelsea and has won the UEFA Champions League, Europa League and FA Cup during those periods.
