Chelsea star wins best Goalkeeper award

The African Cup of Nations AFCON ended on Sunday night with Senegal and Cameroon going head to head.

Aside from Liverpool’s Sadio Mane, all eyes were on the Red’s star Mohammed Salah and Chelsea’s Edouard Mendy.

The game, however, ended on penalty shootouts, with Senegal being named the Champions of Africa.

While Liverpool’s Mane was named the Man of the Tournament, Chelsea’s Mendy won the best goalkeeper award.

This is a big win not just for Mendy but for Chelsea as well as he proves with goal saving spree in the AFCON.

In another report, following the end of the AFCON tournament, Mendy, who has been out of the Blues squad for some weeks now, will link up with the rest of the West London squad in Abu Dhabi, where they will be playing in the FIFA club world cup on Wednesday.

It is unlikely Mendy would return to action immediately for the Blues as their number one goalkeeper as Arrizabalaga Kepa is already doing a job, especially after his crucial save vs Plymouth over the weekend.
