Chelsea star described as the hardest defender a forward can face
Former Chelsea player, Pat Nevin has labelled blues defender Antonio Rudiger as the hardest defender a forward can in football at the moment.
Rudiger moved to Stamford Bridge in 2017 and has established himself as an important player in the squad despite the change of manager.
The Germany international have continued his good form under the guidance of Thomas Tuchel, helping the team win the champions league last season.
This has continued this season with Chelsea yet to taste defeat and Pat Nevin believes no one can rival Rudiger for one-on-one defending against strikers.
Nevin stated that Rudiger must be just about the hardest guy in the business to beat just now.
The former blues winger noted that a huge part of his job during his playing days was to go past people and he is not sure if he has witnessed many better at stopping even brilliant players in those one-on-one scenarios, from back then until right now.
Rudiger has now become famous for bullying strikers and this has been applauded by fans of Chelsea who believes it will help the club’s pursuit for silverware.
