Chelsea midfielder linked with move to Barcelona

Chelsea midfielder and France International N’Golo Kante has been linked with moves to Spanish club Barcelona in the summer of 2023.

The report via Spanish outlet Sport claimed Kante is close to agreeing on a pre-contract deal with the Catalans as soon as January, with the player’s current contract at Chelsea set to expire at the end of the season.

According to the report, Barcelona manager Xavi Hernández is keen to sign the France international to bolster his midfield next season.

The Blues midfielder was missing in actions for his home country France in the recently concluded 2022 FIFA World Cup tournament in Qatar because of injuries, but that hasn’t stopped him from being linked with the Spanish La Liga club.

There are also claims Chelsea want to extend his contract by a two-year deal, although the 31-year-old star is looking for a third year which is not forthcoming.
