Chelsea loanee shares his experience in Seria A, insists there’s more to football than Premier League
Chelsea defender Fikayo Tomori who is currently on loan at AC Milan has shared his thoughts on Seria A as he noted that football is more than the Premier League.
Fikayo Tomori broke into the Chelsea team under Frank Lampard but he was unable to continue his good form due to the arrival of Thiago Silva from Paris Saint-Germain.
The young defender was forced to seek greener pastures and he completed a season-long loan to AC Milan some days ago.
He made his debut as a substitute during Milan’s defeat to Internazionale in the Coppa Italia quarterfinals.
Tomori during a recent interview has now revealed how it feels leaving England for Italy at such a young age.
He stated that a lot of people are realising that there’s more to football than the Premier League and England as he shared how he spoke to a lot of English players and their reply was how young players from from Brazil or Argentina move at 16, 17 yet English players don’t seem to go out of England a lot.
Tomori who seems to be enjoying his new adventure at AC Milan noted that it’s definitely a positive thing that many young English players want to leave England and are willing to try something new, to learn new languages and a different style of play as it’s only going to benefit them and the national team as well.
He added that going abroad gives players a different view on football as a whole rather than just Premier League and England and being in the comfort zone.
According to Tomori, being out of your comfort zone can change a person and a player as well.
The England international will be eager to impress during his loan spell at AC Milan as he aims to break into a Chelsea team currently managed by Thomas Tuchel.
