Chelsea legend sends warning to Arsenal board over Mikel Arteta future
Chelsea legend Petr Cech has given Arsenal board his candid opinion on the future of his former teammate Mikel Arteta who is feeling the heat at the North London club.
Arsenal bad start to the season continued on Tuesday night when they were defeated 4 goals to one by Manchester City.
The Gunners currently lie in 15th place on the Premier League table and if reports were to be true, Arteta might be shown the exit door before the start of the new year.
Cech who was with Arteta during his short spell at the Emirates Stadium has now urged the club board to back the Spaniard in his quest to push Arsenal back to the top.
Arsenal’s pursuit of former Tottenham playmaker receives huge boost
Speaking with talkSPORT, Cech noted that it’s hard for any manager when results don’t go their way then they try to change the way the team play or the philosophy of the football.
Cech stated that when things start to change a little bit it needs time and in order to implement that faster you have to have everybody believe in it adding that some results are also needed.
The Blues goalkeeper urged the Arsenal board to pull in the same direction and help Arteta out.
Arsenal will be facing Chelsea on boxing day and Arteta will be eager to snatch all three points from Frank Lampard’s team.
