The latest reports have revealed that Chelsea are already in talks with Atletico Madrid star, Niguez Saul.

Following Atletico Madrid’s readiness to sell Saul in the summer, football clubs in the EPL which include Man City, Man Utd and Chelsea have shown interest in the top-rated midfielder.

However, the latest reports have revealed that Chelsea seems to have beaten others in the race to sign Saul as the reports revealed that they have made contact with Spanish side over the player.

According to Mundo Deportivo, the Blues have contacted Atletico over the possibility of a summer deal for Saul, but their asking price could prove to be a stumbling block.

The report hinted that it would take a fee of £68.8m to prise Saul away from the Spanish La Liga giants.

It is uncertain if Chelsea will be willing to pay such a huge amount as their main priority for this summer transfer window is to sign a top-class striker.

The Blues are in the race to sign one of Erling Haaland from Borussia Dortmund or Harry Kane from Tottenham Hotspur as a possible replacement for an underperforming Timo Werner.

Chelsea may have to look elsewhere for a midfielder if they need to sign one.
