Chelsea defender demanding £225k to accept new contract at Stamford Bridge
Chelsea defender and Germany international Antonio Rudiger is reportedly demanding a £225k-per-week deal if he agrees to extend his contract at Stamford Bridge.
Rudiger is in the last months of his current contract at Stamford Bridge and is free to enter talks with other clubs ahead of the summer.
So far, the German defender has been linked with Manchester United, Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid, who all seems ready to meet his demands.
The reports have revealed that Rudiger’s wage demands are the major issue hindering negotiations with the west London side as the report claimed the 28-year-old defender had recently rejected a £200k-per-week to remain at Stamford Bridge.
According to The Athletic, Rudiger will consider penning a new deal if offered £225k per week by the Blues, who are still optimistic that an agreement can be reached.
The report added that Rudiger had rejected a £173k-a-week offer from Real Madrid, and Bayern Munich are also keeping a close eye on developments.
So far this season, Rudiger has scored three goals and created four assists in 32 appearances for Chelsea.
