Chelsea close to signing Napoli star as Rudiger’s replacement

Since Antonio Rudiger left Chelsea for the Spanish side Real Madrid this summer transfer window, the Blues have been in a race for a worthy replacement to take the vacant spot at the back.

The latest report has linked Chelsea with a move for Napoli defender Kalidou Koulibaly, who they want to sign as a replacement for Rudiger.

Chelsea are said to be close to sealing a deal for Koulibaly from Napoli in a €40million deal.

The Blues want to add new defenders to Thomas Tuchel’s squad ahead of next season, especially with the departure of Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen.

The Athletic report the Premier League side is close to agreements on a fee and personal terms with Koulibaly.

It added that talks are on going quickly with Chelsea confident of wrapping up the deal before the close of the transfer window.

Tuchel is keen on signing at least new two defenders before the new season gets underway.

Aside from the Napoli star, Chelsea are also in talks with Man City to sign Nathan Ake this summer.
