Boehly reacts to Mount’s departure to Man Utd
Chelsea owner and American billionaire Todd Boehly has reacted to the club academy star Mason Mount’s departure from Stamford Bridge.
This comes as Mount officially completed a move from Chelsea to Manchester United on Wednesday In a deal worth £55 million, plus a further £5 million in add-ons.
The English midfielder is the latest Chelsea player to move to an EPL rival after Mateo Kovacic completed a switch to European champions Manchester City.
Boehly in a reaction alongside co-controlling owners Behdad Eghbali and Jose E. Feliciano, appreciated Mount for his time at Stamford Bridge, describing the 24-year-old as a consummate professional.
In a statement via Chelsea’s website, Boehly said: “Mason is a consummate professional and a popular figure at the club. We want to thank him for all his efforts on and off the pitch throughout his time at Chelsea.”
Meanwhile, Mount has been handed Cristiano Ronaldo’s No. 7 shirt at Old Trafford.
