Four Arsenal players that could replace Aubameyang as Arsenal new captain
It is no longer news that Arsenal manager, Mikel Arteta, has dropped Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang as the Gunners captain.
This comes after Aubameyang was on Tuesday stripped of the captaincy armband over what has been described as a ‘disciplinary breach.’
According to the reports, the Gabon international missed Saturday’s 3-0 victory against Southampton after failing to return on time from an authorised trip abroad earlier in the week.
The latest reports revealed that Arteta had shortlisted four players that could take over the captaincy band from Aubameyang at Emirate stadium.
According to talkSPORT, the four names currently in the frame under consideration by Arteta to become Arsenal’s new captain are Alexandre Lacazette, Kieran Tierney, Aaron Ramsdale and Xhaka.
There are beliefs that one of Lacazette or Xhaka stands a better chance of becoming the Gunners next captain.
A new captain is expected to be announced soon as the Gunners will on Wednesday night host West Ham United in the EPL at Emirate stadium.
Arsenal are currently seated at the 6th spot on the EPL as they hope to make a return to the top four.
