Arsenal manager, Mikel Arteta, has given the latest update on Bukayo Saka and Declan Rice’s injuries ahead of the club’s Carabao Cup game vs Brentford on Wednesday.

Recall that Saka was taken off in second-half stoppage time during their EPL game vs Tottenham Hotspur which ended in a draw.

A report via Evening Standard claimed Saka is struggling with an Achilles injury that he suffered last season but has played through it so far.

Rice was also substituted at halftime against Tottenham and is suffering a back spasm.

During his pre-match press conference ahead of Arsenal’s game with Brentford, Arteta spoke about the duo: “He [Rice] has not trained yet. He could not carry on in the game. Hopefully, it is not something big. We are confident [it is not serious]. He is still uncomfortable. Hopefully, it will progress in the next few days.”

On Saka, the former Manchester City assistant coach added, “He [Saka] has not been able to participate [in training since the derby]. It is a possibility [that he is unavailable for the Bournemouth game on 30 September].”
