Arteta gives injury update after 5-0 win vs Crystal Palace
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta is hoping that the injuries sustained by Declan Rice and Gabriel Magalhaes against Crystal Palace are not serious.
The Gunners returned to winning ways after three successive losses with a convincing 5-0 win over Crystal Palace at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday.
However, during the match, Rice and Gabriel failed to play the full 90 minutes against Crystal Palace.
The England midfielder appeared to confirm he had sustained a hamstring strain before coming off the pitch.
Gabriel, on the other hand, complained of a calf niggle as he made his way to the substitutes’ bench with 15 minutes remaining.
When asked for an update on the duo after the game, Arteta said in his post-match conference that: “Declan was feeling something—a sensation in the hamstring at 3-0. Gabriel, he had a tackle, I think, in the first half on his knee and I think he was a little bit struggling.”
Asked if the problems were potentially serious, Arteta added: “I hope not but let’s see.”
