Arsenal have suffered a major transfer blow ahead of the summer transfer window.

This comes as the latest report has revealed that the Gunners hope of keeping midfielder, Martin Odegaard, at the North London side has been dashed.

According to the reports from Spain, Real Madrid new manager, Carlo Ancelotti, is ready to welcome the Norwegian back into his squad ahead of next season, even though it is not what he wants.

Recall that Odegaard was sent on loan to Arsenal after he failed to perform against under the management of former coach, Zinedine Zidane.

He has, however, thrived impressively at Arsenal in the second half of this season under Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta.

Speaking about Odegaard at his unveiling on Wednesday, Ancelotti told reporters, “When Florentino buys a Norwegian footballer [Odegaard], you simply have to accept it. Furthermore, the president decided that he would play three games with the first team as a public relations exercise.

“He could be the best player in the world, but I don’t care because he was not a player who I asked for. That signing was to do with PR.”

With the Ancelotti’s statement, it shows he would only be playing Odegaard out of obligations.
