Where Chelsea finished under Pochettino next season

Former football star Michael Owen has predicted where the Blues would finish on the premier league table next season under their new manager Mauricio Pochettino.

According to the former England star, Chelsea will return to the top four of the top flight of the English domestic league despite a poor 2022-23 season.

This comes as Chelsea were once again beaten 1-0 by Man City, who were crowned champions at the Etihad on Sunday.

While Chelsea finished this season out of the top six areas, Owen feels Pochettino, who has agreed to become their next permanent head coach will bring the west London side back into the Champions League spots.

“I think they will [finish in the top four next season],” Owen told Premier League Production.

“The most important thing at that club is to get rid of players. You can never, ever have a squad of that quality and have harmony.

“I think the main thing now is to get rid of half a dozen players, focus on a smaller pool, and I think they will do alright next season.”
