Arsenal and Barcelona in talks over player swap deal
The Gunners could apparently move for Barcelona playmaker Philippe Coutinho in a deal which would see Matteo Guendouzi head the other way.
There has been speculations surrounding Guendouzi’s future after disciplinary issues at Arsenal, and the midfielder has been kept out of Mikel Arteta’s squad since his scuffle with Brighton and Hove Albion’s Neal Maupay.
Matteo Guendouzi has now missed eight games in all competitions for the Gunners and didn’t play in their FA Cup semi-final win over Manchester City on Saturday, prompting further recommendations that the youngster will be leaving the club this summer.
As indicated by report, Matteo Guendouzi could be joining Barcelona in a shocking trade deal for Philippe Coutinho, with the Gunners midfielder supposedly clarifying that he might want to leave.
Philippe Coutinho, who is currently playing on loan at Bayern Munich, has been determinedly connected with a move back to the Premier League after failing to dazzle at Barcelona.
Real Madrid, Inter Milan and Paris Saint-Germain are completely reputed to watch Matteo Guendouzi’s future.
Chelsea have also shown interested in Philippe Coutinho.
