Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel has insisted that starting club captain Cesar Azpilicueta in the first team was a priority from day one.

Cesar Azpilicueta was playing as a second fiddle to Recce James before Tuchel’s arrival and the Spaniard have been putting in impressive performance ever since the German arrived.

Thomas Tuchel while former Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand on BT Sport has now insisted that the move remain his best priority as the blues coach.

The German tactician stated that the most important thing is not the formation but how we live it, how everybody respects the principles.

He noted how the team attack, how they defend, in the formation’s that they play and this is much more important than the formation.

Tuchel pinpointed that his team can be strong in any formation, so now, they started with a three and a double sux because of the characteristics of the players.

for months on most of my writings i have asked the question ‘is cesar finished at 31? and i also asked whether rudiger deserved to be the last on the perking order for the defenders under lampard. no pundit has ever written on that. most writings centred on james dethroning cesar and the performances of mount and how he could take over as chelsea captain. some went on to say chelsea would only win the league if only abraham was leading the attack. some writings centred on rice and how he would replace kante and how he would impact chelsea. of late 4 or 5 writings have dwelt on the substitution of odoi by tuchel and most of them seem to be unhappy with the coach. but this happened to matic at chelsea. there were no big stories. when rudger was at loggerheads with lampard and was frozen again their no stories
encouraging lampard to tread carefully. why are the writings revolving around these players? are these biased writings? and why are most of these coming from non former chelsea players. is there a sinister motive to destroy the players future or to destroy chelsea? i have been reading a lot from merson, owen, stutton, philips, ferdinand and the redknapps all who are non former chelsea players or coaches and in my opinion their writings on chelsea are not objective.
