Thomas Tuchel appointment at Chelsea to boast blues pursuit of young defender

As former Paris Saint-Germain coach Thomas Tuchel continue to be linked with a move to Chelsea, the Blues have been given a huge boost in their pursuit of Dayot Upamecano.

RB Leipzig defender Dayot Upamecano has been on the top list of European clubs for the past few months as he has been able to establish himself as one of the best young defenders.

Chelsea who were struggling to keep a clean sheet were tipped to be in the race during Frank Lampard’s era but that looks like a battle that will be won after his sack.

Former Paris Saint-Germain and Borussia Dortmund manager Tuchel is expected to take the reins by the end of the week and his first move is to bring Dayot Upamecano to the bridge.

According to Bild, Tuchel is ready to use his influence as one of the best young managers in Europe to lure Dayot Upamecano to Chelsea rather than Bayern Munich who have also shown interest.

The reports added that Dayot Upamecano will also be keen on the move as he has heard good things about Tuchel’s coaching from his France teammates.

Bundesliga champion Bayern Munich are also reportedly willing to offer Upamecano a good contract but he will be willing to move to Premier League where he will be given a leadership role at Chelsea.
