Messi vs Ronaldo: Lampard reveals the better player

Former Chelsea boss Frank Lampard in a recent statement, has revealed the player he considered the best between PSG’s Lionel Messi and Man Utd’s Cristiano Ronaldo.

Lampard, in a previous statement, had stressed that Messi was the better of the two players.

However, in the latest statement, Lampard has made a u-turn as he picked Ronaldo over Messi owing to the Portuguese’s performance at Man Utd.

Speaking to Gary Neville on The Overlap, the former Chelsea coach stated that Ronaldo has the edge because of his semi-final and final performances.

He added that the Portuguese had proven his game-winning ability since his return to England.

Neville asks: “Messi or Ronaldo?”

To which Lampard responds: “You know what, I’ve always been a Messi man… and then I watched your debate with Carra (Jamie Carragher) recently.

”’I actually think about Ronaldo’s output and actual numbers and goals in big finals, and semi-finals like we’ve seen. I think I may give him the edge now.”

In another report Messi is tipped as one of the favourites to win this years Ballond d’OR.
