Manchester United former forward Wayne Rooney has criticised the club’s manager Ruben Amorim and players as the stated that time was running out.

Rooney made the comment while reacting to Man Utd’s 3-0 defeat to Manchester City in the Premier League derby on Sunday.

The outcome of the match means the Red Devils have won only eight of their 31 league fixtures under Amorim.

Although Man United have assured that Amorim’s position is safe, the club’s next three games against Chelsea, Brentford and Sunderland, could decide his fate.

“I don’t think anyone can understand and comprehend what’s going on,” Rooney said.

The former footballer stated that the Red Devils’ efforts are not good enough. He stated that he wanted to be as supportive and positive as he could be on the manager and the players.

He stressed that it was difficult to claim Man Utd were making progress. According to Rooney, there is no progression under Amorim yet.
