Scholes expresses doubt about this Man Utd star

Former Manchester United midfielder, Paul Scholes, in a recent statement expressed doubt about the performance of Joshua Zirkzee at the club so far.

This comes as Zirkzee has struggled at the front for the Red Devils in terms of scoring goals l.

Recall that Zirkzee, a Dutch international, moved to Old Trafford from Bologna in the summer transfer window.

While he scored a goal against Fulham in his debut match for Manchester United, he has struggled to find the back of the net in nine games since then.

The Red Devils led by manager Erik ten Hag have also struggled this term, winning just three of their 11 matches across all competitions.

In a statement on SuperSport Studio after their goalless draw against Aston Villa on Sunday, Scholes stated that the current striker options at Man United are not good enough.

Scholes pointed out that Rasmus Hojlund does doesn’t look like the kind of striker that would score 20 goals neither does Zirkzee.

He also queried the Dutchman’s role at Old Trafford.

“What is he? Is he a No.9 or a No.10?” Scholes asked.

The Red Devils are currently seated outside the top ten on the Premier League table.
