Ole gives injury update on Man Utd captain
Manchester United coach, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has given an injury update, on the Red Devils captain, Harry Maguire.
Ole in his statement stressed that he is not yet certain if Maguire will be able to start ahead of their game vs. Villarreal in the UEFA Europa League, he is, however, staying positive.
Recall that Maguire sustained an ankle injury in Man United’s 3-1 win against Aston Villa some days ago, and this has raised doubt on whether he would be available for the Europa League final against Villarreal.
Providing an update on Maguire ahead of Red Devils’ Premier League clash with Fulham on Tuesday, Solskjaer said at his pre-match press conference: “Hopefully we can have good news early, but I will give it a while on Harry [Maguire].”
Ole stressed that Maguire is an important player in his squad and his absence in the team has been felt since he was away.
He however revealed that the England international will be giving all the time he needs to recover and gain back his fitness before being giving the nod to join the team.
‘He’s making progress, but we don’t want to test it out too early. Harry wants this so much, but he doesn’t want to take risks either,” Ole said.
