Manchester United reportedly slash transfer fee for Premier League top target
Manchester United have reportedly reduced their transfer fee for Jesse Lingard in a bid to allow the forward leave Old Trafford this summer transfer window.
Lingard lost his place under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer last season, but he proved his worth on loan at West Ham United.
The England international spent the second half of the 2020-21 campaign at West Ham, and he was able to register nine goals and five assists in 16 appearances.
Lingard’s impressive form has made him a top target for Premier League teams, but United has not sorted out his future due to their asking price.
However, a new report has claimed that Manchester United have slashed their asking price for Lingard so they can get him off their wage bill this summer.
The Daily Express reported that Manchester United had dropped their asking price for Lingard from £30m to £20m.
This will serve as positive news for West Ham, Arsenal and Everton, who have become favourites to sign the England international this summer.
