Manchester United are not slowing down in their bid to include new additions to their squad ahead of next season with the hope of competing for trophies having managed to win the FA Cup last season.

The Red Devils who are close to wrapping up Leny Yoro’s transfer French side Lille are said to bave step up their interest in Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Manuel Ugarte.

Recall that the Red Devils have already signed Joshua Zirkzee from Bologna, and Yoro could be next as he is expected to be announced as the club’s second arrival of the current market soon.

However, journalist Florian Plettenberg in a recent update revealed Man United are now planning to move forward in their bid to sign Ugarte, having identified the 23-year-old as their leading midfield target this summer.

According to Plettenberg, the Uruguay international is interested in a move to Old Trafford, but the two clubs are yet to reach an agreement over a fee despite preliminary talks.

Man Utd are keen on signing a new midfielder this summer, and there are speculations that the arrival of Ugarte at Old Trafford could lead to either Scott McTominay or Casemiro exiting the club.

Christian Eriksen is also said to be available for sale.
