Man Utd consider swap deal for Watkins

Manchester United have been busy this summer transfer window as they plan to bolster manager Ruben Amorim’s squad after their poor performance last season.
Recent report revealed the Red Devils are planning a swap deal involving Alejandro Garnacho and Ollie Watkins.
So far, the Red Devils signed Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo from Wolverhampton Wanderers and Brentford respectively, to boost their attack line.
However, they are still in the race for a natural number nine and want to sign one before the transfer window closes on September 1.
Man United’s recruitment team have placed Watkins on their target list as a potential option to solve their striker woes.
However, the Red Devils are said to be reluctant to meet Aston Villa’s £60m asking price for Watkins who will turn 30 later this year.
It was further reported that the Red Devils are willing to pay between £40m and £45m for the Englishman.
The Independent reported that Man United are now considering an ‘innovative solutions’ to combat their concerns regarding the Premier League’s Profit and Sustainability Regulations (PSR).
Due to PSR, Man Utd are making moves to negotiate swap deals for their transfer targets.
According to the reports, the Red Devils have discussed with Aston Villa over a potential deal that would see Garnacho and Watkins move in opposite directions.
