Jadon Sancho Discusses Remarkable Turnaround at Manchester United and New Role After Ten Hag Dispute

Jadon Sancho is enthusiastic about his return to Manchester United after a turbulent period with manager Erik ten Hag.

The 24-year-old winger has reconciled with the club during their US tour following a significant fallout that almost led to a loan move to Borussia Dortmund in January.

Sancho expressed his happiness to MUTV, stating, “Definitely, 100 percent. It’s been nice, back with the lads, it’s been good.”

This marks a significant turnaround for Sancho, who was previously sidelined from the first team after a disagreement with Ten Hag.

The manager had criticized Sancho for poor training performance, resulting in his exclusion from the squad for United’s 3-1 defeat against Arsenal in September. Sancho responded by accusing Ten Hag of making him a “scapegoat.”

With striker Rasmus Hojlund sidelined for six weeks due to a hamstring injury, Sancho is expected to start in United’s Premier League opener against Fulham.

Ten Hag has had clear-the-air talks with Sancho, and last month he commented, “We spoke well. Anyone can make a mistake.

This club needs good players and one thing is for sure, the former Borussia Dortmund attacker is a good player. I hope he will contribute to our success.”

Manchester United faced additional pre-season challenges with injuries to Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Victor Lindelof, and Jonny Evans during their 3-0 defeat to Liverpool in South Carolina.

New £42 million center-back Leny Yoro, 18, is also out for three months due to a foot injury sustained against Arsenal in Los Angeles.

Ten Hag told MUTV, “We have to see what’s gone on. We also had to sub Jonny at half-time because he was ill.

Victor was a precaution. So, yeah, there are some injuries but we have to see how bad it will be. That is part of club football.”

Manchester United will kick off the new Premier League season on August 18, welcoming Fulham to Old Trafford.
