Manchester United
Cavani linked with Barcelona
With barely a few days to the start of the winter transfer window slated for January, Man Utd striker and Uruguay International Edison Cavani has been linked with moves to Spanish club Barcelona.
The reports revealed that Cavani is keen on playing for the Los Blancos, who are going through some tough time presently having been kicked out of the Uefa Champions League recently.
According to TyC Sports, Cavani, whose current contract at Old Trafford ends next summer, has decided that he wants to move to Spain where he could play for Barcelona.
The Uruguay star had an offer from Boca Juniors, but he has turned down the offer to move to Camp Nou instead.
A deal between the Uruguay international is likely to take place in January when he would be available for a nominal fee.
Cavani, at 34, believes he has what it takes to help turn Barcelona’s fortunes around and is determined to replace Sergio Aguero at Camp Nou following the latter’s retirement.
Hopefully, the contract will be signed in January and run till the end or the season as it is unlikely to be a long-term deal.
Man Utd would most likely let Cavani leave as he has played for them since November 2nd.
