Owen tips struggling Premier League champions to win UCL

Former Man Utd star, Michael Owen has tipped Premier League champions, Liverpool to win the Uefa Champions League this season.

While the Reds have been struggling in the premier league in their past few games, Owen seems to be among the few that still has hope in them to win the UCL.

Liverpool are currently out of the top four on the premier league table and the chances of them returning to it or winning the title this season is very slim.

However, they were able to move to the next round in the UCL after they defeated RB Leipzig during the week.

The Reds were saved thanks to two goals from Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane having won the first leg in a 2-0 scoreline.

”You can rule out certain teams in the Champions League, but you can’t rule out Liverpool,” Owen told BT Sport.

“Liverpool are a good enough team to win the Champions League, no question.”

Owen stated that last season saw Bayern Munich win the Champions League after beating Paris Saint-Germain 1-0 in the final and he believes Liverpool can do the same.

Liverpool will return to action on Monday night in the premier league when they play the Wolves.
