Jurgen Klopp reveals star defender could return in pre-season game against Hertha Berlin

Liverpool were unable to defend the Premier League they won in 2020 last season as they fell short to Manchester City who won the trophy in grand style.

Jurgen Klopp was forced to play most of the season without his most trusted defender Virgil Van Dijk who got injured in October against Everton.

Van Dijk clashed with Jordan Pickford and the Holland international was forced to miss the rest of the season.

His nightmare on the sideline now appears to be coming to an end as Jürgen Klopp revealed the former Southampton man could make his return to action against Hertha Berlin.

Jurgen Klopp while speaking with the official club site stated that he hope but he’s not sure, that there is the opportunity that Van Dijk could play a few minutes.

According to the German tactician, Van Dijk look really good in training and maybe the coaching crew can bring him in, but heneed to have some final conversations.

Klopp added that Van Dijk looks ready and only time will tell.

Liverpool having Van Dijk back in the side will make a massive difference, the Dutchman has become one of the best players in his position.
