Man United forward Cristiano Ronaldo has revealed he was provoked into leaving the pitch by manager Erik Ten Hag during their match against Tottenham Hotspur.

Ronaldo made this claim during the second part of his interview with Piers Morgan on TalkTV, which was aired in the UK on Thursday.

The Portugal star added that he felt disrespected by Ten Hag after the manager refused to play him against Manchester City and then decided to bring him on for three minutes against the Hotspurs.

According to Ronaldo, the Dutchman’s action was on purpose.

“You don’t put me on against Man City because of respect for my career, and you want to put me on for three minutes against Tottenham?

“It doesn’t make sense. I think he did it on purpose. I felt provoked not only because of that game but before.

“He don’t respect the way I should deserve. But it is what it is. This is why probably, the game against Tottenham, I left,” Ronaldo said.
