Former Chelsea winger and Brazil star Willian, who now plays for Fulham in a statement revealed leaving Stamford Bridge was a big mistake for him.

The Brazilian said he should not have left Chelsea to join Arsenal nearly three years ago.

Willian dumped Chelsea after seven trophy-laden years at Stamford Bridge after he was only offered a two-year contract.

Upon leaving Chelsea, Willian moved to sign a deal with Blues’ rival Arsenal, who offered him a three-year contract and signed him on a free transfer.

However, unlike, Chelsea where he was impressive, Willian struggled through his stay at the North London club as he failed to thrive under the tutelage of Mikel Arteta.

The attacker has since returned to excellent form after he joined Fulham.

Asked if he regretted leaving Chelsea, he told Sky Sports: “Yeah I wish I’d never left… I say to myself ‘I wish I never left,”
