Leicester City boss Brendan Rodgers has been tipped as the favourite to succeed Frank Lampard at the helm of affairs in Chelsea.

Frank Lampard’s second season at Chelsea has not been impressive as he has not been able to justify the huge amount of money the club spent during the summer transfer window.

Chelsea has failed to perform at the highest level in the Premier League despite qualifying for the UEFA Champions League round of 16 unbeaten in their group.

Lampard spent more than £220m on new recruits last summer, bringing in the likes of Kai Havertz, Eduardo Mendy and Timo Werner but that has not changed the club fortune.

The blues loss against Manchester City means they are seven points adrift of top spot having played a game more than pacesetters Liverpool and Manchester United.

According to reports, Lampard will soon be shown the exit door by club owner Roman Abramovich as he hopes to bring in a replacement for the second half of the campaign.

Topping the list of managers that might replace the English man is former blues managers Brendan Rodgers.
