Chelsea returned to winning ways on Saturday during their clash against Southampton in the English Premier League.

This comes after they had suffered two defeats in a row against Man City in the EPL and Juventus in the UCL.

The Blues won the match vs Southampton in a 3-1 scoreline, and of the players that shined during the game was Timo Werner.

Recall that Werner didn’t perform at Stamford Bridge and happens to be one of the reasons the Blues opted to sign Romelu Lukaku from Inter Milan.

However, Werner’s goal vs Southampton has been rated as a fantastic goal by Thomas Tuchel, who revealed how happy he is for the player.

Other Chelsea players who scored apart from Werner, Trevoh Chalobah and Ben Chilwell.

“I’m happy for Timo, and I’m happy for the team. There was some relief when he scored for sure because it was 1-1 at the time with not too long to go, and we came into the game off the back of two defeats,” Tuchel said at this post-match press conference.
