Dutch boss urges Chelsea winger to leave Stamford Bridge

Ex-Ajax striker Marco van Basten has asked Chelsea winger Hakim Ziyech to leave Stamford Bridge this summer, after just arriving in London toward the start of this season.

The 28-year-old has been an irregular member for the Blues and has not played an entire 90 minutes for Chelsea since November 7, his only complete game of the entire season up until this point.

The Moroccan international joined Chelsea for £37m from Dutch giants Ajax, and Van Basten accepts that Ziyech deserves his opportunity ahead of teammate Timo Werner.

Ziyech again on the bench. At the point when he gets in, that’s like a striker. He can do that as well, since he is only a decent player. I’m sad to see rotation… He’s only not in the correct spot. That Werner plays actually bad, but doesn’t he come in substantially more regularly?” Van Basten told reporters.

The system this coach plays is simply not good for Ziyech. At that point as Ziyech you need to say, ‘Guess what? I need to plead [to leave].

It is currently about Ziyech on the grounds that I have nothing to do with that man. This isn’t getting along like that. I’m not saying it’s awful for Ziyech or terrible for that coach, however it doesn’t work that way.

The former Ajax winger signed a five-year deal at Stamford Bridge last season and has scored five goals for the club.
