Done Deal: Sevilla completes signing of this Man Utd star on loan

French club Sevilla have completed the signing of Man Utd forward and France international Anthony Martial in the ongoing January transfer window.

The 26-year-old will remain at the La Liga club who will pay his wages in full – until the end of the season. There is no loan fee involved.

Martial flew from Paris to Seville on Tuesday to undergo a medical.

The French forward had always preferred to join Sevilla this month, despite interest from top European clubs like Juventus and Barcelona, because he believes that is where he will play the most.

Martial was the most expensive teen player when he joined Man United from Monaco in 2015 and scored 79 times in 269 appearances for the club.

But he lost his place at the front following the arrival of Cristiano Ronaldo and Jadon Sancho in the summer, as well as the emergence of Mason Greenwood.

So far this season, Martial has made only four starts for Man Utd and was accused by coach Ralf Rangnick of refusing to play in the 2-2 draw at Aston Villa on January 15.

Martial would, however, later refute the manager’s claim.
