Thiago Silva is another new face moving to Stamford Bridge as Frank Lampard keeps on reinforcing his Chelsea squad following the recent signing of Ben Chilwell from Leicester City.

The 35-year-old has joined Chelsea on a free transfer after his eight-year spell with Paris Saint-Germain reached an end.

The Brazilian centre-back was a free agent after his contract with PSG ended and has signed a one-year contract with the alternative of a further one year at Stamford Bridge.

The 35-year-old made many appearances for Paris Saint-Germain, helping them win seven Ligue 1 titles during his spell in the French capital, just as 11 different trophies.

Thiago Silva couldn’t leave the club as a Champions League winner, playing his last game for the club in Sunday’s final defeat to Bayern Munich.

Thiago Silva stated: I am so happy to join Chelsea. I am thrilled to be part of Chelsea boss Frank Lampard’s exciting squad for next season and I’m here to challenge for honours.
