Deal DONE: Chelsea confirm signing of England defender on five-year deal

The Blues have completed the signing of Ben Chilwell from Leicester City.

The England defender has signed a five year contract at Stamford Bridge in a deal thought to be worth around £50m.

The 23-year-old becomes Chelsea’s third signing of the summer following the arrival of Timo Werner and Hakim Ziyech, while deals for Thiago Silva, Kai Havertz and Malang Sarr are also thought to be near completion.

I am delighted to be joining Chelsea at this exceptionally time for the club, Ben Chilwell disclosed to Chelsea’s offical site.

I’m happy to be part of this young, unique squad led by Frank Lampard as we challenge for honours next season. I can hardly wait to start and ideally soon we’re playing before the Chelsea fans at Stamford Bridge.

The 23-year-old Ben Chilwell will bring high level experience playing in the Premier League, Champions League and at international level, notwithstanding his young age.

We are certain Ben Chilwell will adjust rapidly to being a Chelsea player and with the fixtures program for 2020-21 particularly busy, he is an incredible addition to the squad expected to challenge for honours.

Ben Chilwell got through the ranks at Leicester City and proceeded to play multiple times for the first team, notwithstanding procuring 11 England caps.
