Chelsea have purportedly reached “a crucial stage” in talks over a deal for Rennes shot-stopper Edouard Mendy.
Edouard Mendy has apparently developed as the club’s top transfer target between the sticks as they search for another goalkeeper due to Kepa Arrizabalaga’s struggles.
The 28-year-old is supposedly accessible for £30m during this present summer’s transfer window and could be moving before the deadline passes toward the start of October.
As per writer Kevin Palmer, talks over a move to Stamford Bridge have reached “a crucial stage”, and the goalkeeper could now be headed to Stamford Bridge.
The Senegal international also guaranteed on Twitter that Frank Lampard’s side are thinking about other goalkeeping alternatives, in any case.
Edouard Mendy has a three year contract with Rennes, he has 36 clean sheets in his 85 outings for his present club in all competitions.
